Accessibility

• Text size control with four steps, applied to the whole app and the reader.
• An opt-in dyslexia-friendly typeface that uses fonts already on your device, so it cannot fail to load.
• A high-contrast mode and a reduced-motion mode, both of which also respect your operating system setting.
• A bedtime theme that lowers stimulation and shifts colour away from blue light.
• Full keyboard navigation, a skip link, visible focus rings, and generous touch targets.
• Read-aloud using your device's built-in speech, with adjustable speed, captions, and a full transcript.
• Descriptive alternative text on illustrations, and page text that is real selectable text rather than baked into an image.

You can change all of these from the accessibility button in the header, and your choices are saved to your account rather than to one browser.

• We have not completed an independent accessibility audit, so we do not claim conformance to any WCAG level.
• Word-level highlighting during read-aloud is only shown when the timing data is genuinely accurate. On device voices it often is not, so it stays off.
• Screen reader testing has been done with keyboard and automated checks, but not yet across the full range of assistive technology.
• Spanish and right-to-left layouts are prepared in the code but not released.

We do not block pinch-to-zoom anywhere. We do not use colour alone to carry meaning. We do not put moving or flashing decoration into a child's reading view. The reader contains no advertising, no upsell, and no links out of the story.
