Refund policy

Two separate things can go wrong: a charge you did not want, and a book that did not work. We handle them differently.

When a book fails, your credit comes back

This is not a refund, it is automatic. A book reserves one credit from your monthly allowance when generation starts. The credit is only spent when the finished book reaches your library. If generation fails, is blocked by safety review, or you discard the result, the credit is released back to you immediately.

You can see every reservation and release on your usage and allowance page, so you never have to take our word for the arithmetic.

Subscription refunds

  • Within 14 days of your first payment on a plan, ask us and we will refund it in full.
  • If you were charged after cancelling, that is our mistake and we refund it in full.
  • If a technical fault on our side stopped you generating books for a significant part of a billing period, we refund or extend that period.
  • If you simply used fewer books than your plan includes, we do not refund the difference — but you should probably move to a smaller plan, and we will help you do that.

How to ask

Write to us from the contact page using your account email, or open your billing portal from Billing and cancel first so nothing renews while we sort it out. We aim to answer refund requests within a few business days.

What happens to your books

A refund or cancellation does not delete anything. Books already in your library stay readable. Generating new books, and paid-only downloads and narration, stop at the end of the period you have paid for.

Chargebacks

If you dispute a charge with your bank instead of contacting us, your account may be suspended while the dispute is open, because we are required to respond to it. We would much rather you emailed us.

Purchases made in a mobile app

If you ever subscribe through an app store rather than through our website, that store handles the payment and its own refund rules apply. We cannot refund a charge we did not process.
