Make a book and print it yourself

What works today

On a paid plan you can export a print-ready PDF and take it to any print shop or home printer. The export carries a note that the book is AI-assisted, the date it was made, and a private-use notice. Document metadata is stripped so the file does not carry your details around with it.

If you are gifting to another household, the simplest honest route today is to make the book, export the PDF, and hand over the printed copy. That way the recipient does not need an account, and no child data moves between families.

  • Details of the child, from someone who knows them
  • A print shop, or a decent printer and heavy paper

What families actually make

Every one of these is a normal story in the builder. There is no separate gift product to buy.

A new baby in the house
A story for the older sibling, written before the baby arrives, in which they are already the big one who knows where things are.
A grandparent who lives far away
Grandparents in the household can appear in the story as themselves, doing something they actually do together.
A birthday that needs less plastic
A printed picture book with the child in it lasts longer than the toy, and takes up less floor space.
A hard year
Starting a new school, a house move, a first hospital stay. A gentle story about the thing, made specifically for the child facing it.
