Six things that are true of every story

Private by default
There is no public gallery, no feed, and no discover page. A story exists inside one household and is visible to nobody else unless an adult deliberately creates a share link.
Accounts belong to adults
Only an adult can hold an account. Children are profiles inside a household, not users, so a child never has a login, an inbox, or a way to reach the internet from the reader.
Two screening passes, then you
Text is screened after it is written and images after they are drawn. A story that clears both is still not visible to a child until the adult who requested it approves it.
Hard topics get a person, not a story
Requests touching grief, abuse, self-harm, violence, or eating disorders are refused. We show adult resources and offer a human review request instead of improvising something delicate.
Deletion actually deletes
A deletion request queues work against our database, our file storage, and the providers who processed the story. You can also export everything first.
Nothing sells to your child
The reading experience contains no advertising, no upgrade prompts, no external links, and no notifications. Billing lives behind an adult gate, in the adult part of the app.
The pipeline

Every gate a story passes through

Each stage is recorded, so when something is refused we can tell you which stage refused it and why.

  1. Input validation

    Length, character set, and structure checks on everything typed into the builder.

  2. Personal detail redaction

    Addresses, phone numbers, school names, and similar identifiers are stripped before the request leaves us.

  3. Prompt isolation

    Your free text is fenced and labelled as untrusted data, never merged into the model's instructions.

  4. Topic and age gate

    The request is classified against the child's age band and our refusal list before any writing starts.

  5. Text review

    The drafted story is screened as a whole, not just phrase by phrase.

  6. Image review

    Each illustration is screened after generation, with a locked character design for consistency.

  7. Adult review

    The assembled book goes to the requesting adult. Publishing to a child is a separate, deliberate action.

  • Independent security review of the household isolation rules.
  • Review of all legal copy by qualified counsel, including the children's privacy notice.
  • Review of the age-band story rules by a child development adviser.
  • Required multi-factor authentication for every staff account with moderation access.
